PanCareSurPass Research Manager Dr. Riccardo Haupt (IGG) presented PanCareSurPass at the 8th ERN PaedCan General Assembly meeting (30 November – 01 December 2021). SIOP Europe and CCI Europe also joined the meeting, along with representatives from our clinical partners. These societies are key amplifiers of the PanCareFollowUp project results, and the project was included in SIOP Europe’s list of projects to check out.
‘European Reference Networks’ (ERNs) are a European Union initiative to facilitate cooperation across national health systems for the benefit patients. The ERN PaedCan is tackling ‘inequalities in childhood cancer survival by providing high-quality, accessible and cost-effective cross-border healthcare to children and adolescents with cancer, regardless of where they live.’
European wide implementation of the SurPass, driven by projects like PanCareSurPass, supports this mission by providing a digital tool to support high-quality person-centred care for survivors of childhood and adolescent cancer in the long-term.
Many PanCareSurPass partners are also involved in the ERN PaedCan, which is coordinated by CCRI. Stakeholder representatives from SIOP Europe and CCI Europe play key roles and many of our clinics are network members (KU Leuven/UZ Leuven, IGG, VULSK, HULAFE).
