HL7 Europe Working Group Meeting and EU-a-thon
On 12 - 13 February 2025, at the HL7 Europe Working Group Meeting and EU-a-thon, HL7 Europe led the "Common Cancer Model Track". The aim of the track was to use the experience achieved in European project, such as PanCareSurPass and national initiatives, to define a minimal, extensible, non-exhaustive European cancer data model that is: agnostic to the type of cancer, usable across different use cases, leverages the experiences of the European projects working with primary and secondary usage, takes into account the availability and usability of reliable data in electronic health record (EHR) systems, and allows its HL7 FHIR representation in the form of an HL7 FHIR Implementation Guide. The event went beyond expectations - with more than 30 participants from 11 EU countries, the track created the first draft of a European Common Cancer Conceptual Model of the cancer journey on a timeline. As next steps, HL7 Europe will continue the activity conceptual model, and will start on the European Common Cancer Logical Model and on the HL7 Europe Cancer Common FHIR Implementation Guide. This work will be presented at the next HL7 International Working Group Meeting ...

Map of long-term follow-up care across Europe
Have you already seen our interactive map showing the current status of long-term follow-up (LTFU) care across Europe? This map was developed as part of the EU-funded EU-CAYAS-NET project, where PanCare is a partner. The EU-CAYAS-NET project aims to enhance the quality of life for childhood, adolescent, and young adult (CAYA) cancer survivors. Specifically, PanCare is involved in the priority areas of late effects and long-term follow-up care. Up until now, there was no comprehensive overview of the available LTFU care in European countries. To create this overview, a survey was conducted among healthcare professionals working in LTFU care centers across Europe. The survey gathered information about the availability and the content of LTFU care in the centers of the healthcare professionals. Now, this important information is accessible in an interactive map. Explore the map here: https://lnkd.in/e6TTip22 Is your care center or country missing from the map or do you have more information? Help us make the map complete! you can contribute to the information on this ap by filling out this form: https://lnkd.in/eKTKuDHJ. PanCareSurPass session at Hospitals on FHIR 2024
Hospitals on FHIR is a unique initiative of HL7 Europe to convene a Community of Practice aimed at boosting interoperability maturity in healthcare organisations and awareness in the clinical community. At its annual meeting, the Hospitals on FHIR User Days in Brussels on 24 November 2024, PanCareSurPass organised a panel session to present the project, seek feedback, and to engage with this community, and four of the PanCareSurPass clinical sites participated: Riccardo Haupt (Gaslini) presented the project and reflected on the implementation in Italy. Justas Trinkunas and Paulius Ragauskas shared learnings from VULSK. Edit Bardi from St. Anna Children's Cancer Research Institute shared how the PanCareSurPass deployment fits into the wider Austrian infrastructure. Alexandre Siau discussed lessons learned from the KU Leuven/University Hospital Leuven (Belgium). Finally, Roberta Gazzarata from HL7 Europe gave a status update of the PanCareSurPass Project HL7 FHIR Implementation Guide. The session was hosted and facilitated by Michael Strübin from HL7 Europe. All slides are available here. There was significant interest from the audience despite the late afternoon schedule. Questions and discussions centred around technical issues (how did the clinical sites manage the transition from proprietary/legacy ...
