PanCareSurPass and Sciensano

On 18 Oct 2024, the team in Leuven shared their experiences in PanCareSurPass with Sciensano, a Belgian public institution that connects health, science and society. Around 25 participants joined representing pediatric oncologists, adult oncologists, government, researchers and patients associations.

PanCareSurPass at EU-CAYAS-NET Barcelona Policy Event

Dr Teresa Tormo from the HULAFE team joined the EU-CAYAS-NET Policy Event in Barcelona, Spain on 13 June 2024. EU-CAYAS-NET is a project, co-funded by the European Commission, which unites leading organisations from 18 countries active in the childhood and youth cancer field to map existing resources that are helpful to young cancer patients, survivors and their caregivers, to create new European guidelines and empower cancer survivors to advocate for their rights and needs. EU-CAYAS-NET and PanCareSurPass share a number of partners (CCI Europe, PanCare, SIOP Europe, PMC, Pintail).

Alcoi Meeting in Spain

Dr. Julia Balaguer (HULAFE) presented 'Efectos del ejercicio físico en el superviviente de cáncer pediátrico' at the recent VIII ENCUENTRO DE INVESTIGADORES Y INVESTIGADORAS EN CÁNCER CIUTAT D’ALCOI on 19 April 2024. This meeting brings together experts, researchers and health professionals with the aim of exploring, discussing and sharing pioneering discoveries that can influence cancer prevention and treatment strategies. The aim is to encourage new collaborations, encourage the exchange of knowledge and stimulate innovation in oncological research, to improve the quality of life of those affected by cancer.

PanCareSurPass General Assembly in Mainz

On 29 Feb and 01 March 2024, the project partners met in Mainz to look back at what the individual work packages have achieved since Sep 2023, when our last General Assembly took place, and to make plans for the next six months of work. After various preparations since the start of the project, such as a pre-implementation study to investigate factors that affect the implementation of the Survivorship Passport, technical implementations and the development of country-specific Implementation Strategies, four of the six clinics have started the implementation study, with the last two to start soon. We are happy to have made a start on the provision of Survivorship Passports!

36 Deutscher Krebskongress

On 23 February 2024, Anna-Liesa Filbert (UMC-Mainz) presented 'The Survivorship Passport - Steps towards German implementation of an EU-harmonized tool to strengthen patient empowerment and evidence-based, people-centred follow-up care for cancer survivors' at the 36 Deutscher Krebskongress (DKK). Held every two years, this meeting is where oncology experts from hospitals and practices in Germany gather to discuss current research results. The DKK attracts over 10,000 participants who use the time for an intensive exchange about advances in cancer medicine.
