Meet the Leader from AIT!
In this interview, we meet Biomedical Informatician Günter Schreier from the Austrian Institute of Technology. Why did you join PanCareSurPass? We, at AIT, and me, personally, have been involved in these developments starting in 2010 with the ENCCA project, leading the IT workpackage. Since then, we bet on interoperability to make the SurPass a reality. With PanCareSurPass, finally, interoperability took center stage. Explain your organization and your role in PanCareSurPass. The AIT Austrian Institute of Technology is Austria’s largest applied research institute with approx. 1.400 employees working in 8 centers. Its vision is to bridge the gap between basic research and applied science. AIT’s Digital Health Information Systems (HIS) research team is part of the Centre for Health & Bioresources and has comprehensive experience in the design, development, evaluation and operation of patient centered, interoperable, privacy preserving, and predictive ICT solutions for healthcare and biomedical research. Our role in PanCareSurPass is developing the architecture of the IT solution in Austria and to provide our EUPID Services to bridge the gap between healthcare and research. Anke Neumann (UzL) presented 'Mapping, Modeling and Standardization of Clinical Data into the HL7 FHIR Specification for the EU Project PanCareSurPass' at the BioMedTec Science Campus on 03 October 2022. The audience of 280 was made up of students in biomedical technology.
Meet the Clinic members from HULAFE!
In this interview, we meet the clinical team from HULAFE, which includes Adela Cañete, Julia Balaguer, Teresa Tormo; Antonio Orduña, Marisa Correcher, Vicente Pons, Lucas Cerveró. The multidisciplinary team is composed of experts from the Pediatric Hematooncology Unit and the IT Service. Why did you join PanCareSurPass? We joined PanCareSurPass as we are very worried about transition to primary care physician when our children who suffered cancer grow up and are discharged from our pediatric oncology units. The 54th Annual Congress of International Society of Paediatric Oncology was held in a hybrid format in Barcelona after two years of virtual meetings. It was great to see a return to in person interactions for so many! On the 28th of September, CCI Europe's Hannah Gsell presented the PanCareFollowUp project, as well as our sister project PanCareFollowUp.

In this interview, we meet physician Jelena Rascon from the Vilnius University Hospital Santaros Klinikos . Why did you join PanCareSurPass? I am pediatric oncologist and hematologist, and I am heading the Centre for Pediatric Oncology and Hematology at VULSK. The PanCareSurPass project is an opportunity to strengthen the follow-up of childhood cancer survivors (CCS) in Lithuania and scale-up the survivorship care in a higher level. Vilnius University Hospital Santaros Klinikos (VULSK) is the principal multi-profile hospital in Lithuania (1M out- & 81K in-patients annually), is a full- member of 8 European Reference Networks. The hospital has expertise in R&D incl. phase I-IV clinical trials of investigational medicinal products and medical devices, observational studies and international registries. Children with cancer have been treated at VULSK since 1981. The Centre of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology, the biggest childhood cancer center in Lithuania and the Baltic region and is a full member of the European Reference Network for Pediatric Oncology (ERN PaedCan). Approximately 40-50 new childhood cancer cases are diagnosed and treated each year including leukemia, CNS and other solid tumors. ...
